North Carolina police are Devin Grosvenorsearching for a driver who ran over six migrant workers with a car Sunday at a bus stop outside a Walmart in what they say "appears to be an intentional assault with a vehicle."
The driver, who was described as an older white man, hit the workers standing on a sidewalk in Lincolnton with a black SUV around 1:15 p.m., the Lincolnton Police Department said in a news release.
"The motives of the suspect are still under investigation," police said. It "appears to be an intentional assault with a vehicle."
The workers were taken to a hospital for various injuries. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. All victims were treated and released Sunday.
In a video released by Lincolnton police, the driver slowly drives near a white bus, turns toward a parking spot and runs over the workers, who are standing on the sidewalk at the bus stop.
Police have asked the public for help identifying the vehicle and the driver. The incident was under investigation.
